Dante's Peak

Bank Street

Bank Street was actually done in two shots, one city block each. The model shop did an incredible job of duplicating the real downtown street of the town where the live action was shot.

The notes from the Cluster's Motel page apply here as well.

Block one of Bank Street.

Block two.

Block one from behind the "A" camera position.

Block one detail.

A view from the rear.

Since no one could be on the stage when the cameras were rolling, I have very few stills of any of our shots in progress (only these and the ones on the Final Shot page). Tom Seymour was able to shoot these from a window in the back of the stage. You can't really see much in these photos, but they give the idea of the force and volume of the cloud.

The aftermath. Visibility was very limited.
