The Barkhor is the heart of the old Tibetan sector of Lhasa. At the center of the Barkhor lies the Jokhang Temple, with the Barkhor Square at it's entrance. The streets that surround the temple are called the Barkhor Circuit, a path which pilgrims follow, always in a clockwise direction. The streets are lined with shops and stalls, hawking everything that a Tibetan or a tourist might need.
